There have been a couple of CHS students that have shown great academic accomplishments, and are five national merit semi-finalists. One of the five students, Mary Madison Pevey.

Mary Madison lives with her mother Ramona Pevey and her father Kelly Pevey. She also has a brother, Austin Pevey.

She has been in Clinton schools her whole life, and has been representing the school district very well. Her favorite subject is Biomed class. She also likes how the class is small and people who work hard surround her and they deeply discuss topics in class and present information to show that they know.

As far as college goes Mary plans to stay in her hometown, and attend Mississippi College majoring in biology and medical sciences.

She showed great gratitude to Clinton Public Schools District stating that the teachers have pushed her to and the classes have always challenged her and enabled her to keep learning.

She was asked what advice would she give to her younger self, Mary Madison said, “ Keep a calm head and do what you know you can do.”
