After coming together in the first semester of their 2016 college year, the members of Sun & Co. began writing and producing original music, eventually forming the “alt-indie-rock” band, as described by Clinton grad and vocalist Gabbi Adams.

Paying homage to the sunsets enjoyed and shared together, the name Sun & Co. describes these shared experiences between the band’s six members.

In the brief time that the band has been active, it has steadily grown in reputation across a large network of friends and family who enjoy the music and further spread it to their own friends and family. While initially small, the band’s fan-base has grown to a sizeable following, eventually earning Sun & Co. a spot as one of Mississippi College’s most popular local bands.

The band includes MC’s own Isaac Sanders (percussion), Mark Soileau (guitar/vocals), Gabbi Adams (vocals), Avery Glover (guitar), Robert Stephenson (bass), and Nathan Garber (sound tech). While the band mainly covers songs, ranging from The Beatles to Kenny Rogers to Paramore, the group is currently working on creating more of their own work to release as either an EP or an album of their own original tracks.

In the meantime, the band performs about once a month, primarily at Ridgeland’s M7 Coffee House and Cups’ locations in Brandon, Dogwood, and Clinton’s location next to MC.

For those who enjoy a relaxed atmosphere with good music and friendly company, find Sun & Co. on Instagram at @sunandco_official. It very well might be the one to add to your “Must See” list.
