The new school year is coming in full force with football in the lead.File Photo

Clinton’s first home game is this Thursday, August 17 against South Panola.

Being one of the largest match ups in the state, this home game is sure to bring in a crowd.

Clinton High School will have its first pep rally of the year Thursday morning before the game.

It will start at 8:00 A.M. and last until around the beginning of first period.

Students will be seated in the Clinton High School gym, each grade having their own section in the bleachers.

Sophomores and juniors will be seated on one side of the gym, while seniors will be across from them on the other side.

Each grade is encouraged to cheer as loud as possible for their own class when the time comes.

Each pep rally is themed, and the student section for games are also themed, including the away games.

The theme for this pep rally is Hawaiian. It’s recommended—and appreciated—that everyone dress up and show your support for our Clinton Arrows.

At the game, the student section theme is Sports Jersey, so be sure to wear your favorite.

As a consequence of the pep rally Thursday morning, expect heavy traffic on Arrow Drive. It’s always a good idea to arrive at the pep rallies around 7:45 A.M. to ensure a good seat—you don’t want to miss it.

“It [the pep rally] gets everyone excited for the big game,” says student council senior, Breana Norton.

Following this week’s pep rally, there will be four more pep rallies this year.

They each have their own theme, including: Patriotic (Sept. 1), Community Pep Rally, Class colors (Sept 21), Decades (Oct 7) and Neon (Oct. 27).

More details will be posted when each pep rally nears.
